Hi chaps - thanks for the comments.
I still have the limiting rotor arm in my distributor. I overhauled the unit at the start of the restoration with the idea of getting the car running briefly to check engine condition. This idea was later abandoned due to the poor condition of the fuel system ...

Re: Car of the Month articles on the Website
Thanks for posting this Allen.
I´d just like to add that if members would like to submit their cars but don´t feel like writing an article, I can do this for them. Simply send me some good pictures and a little information and I´ll expand it into a full COTM feature.

Re: 2.5Pi Mk1 Restoration
A pleasant few evenings have been spent this week removing the remaining stainless trim sections from the exterior and starting to strip out the interior, in preparation for body repairs.

Re: Stainless roofline trim sections
Success :D
Blimey they were tight, but after 12 hours WD40 soaking and plenty of gentle hammer and wood persuasion, the trims are off with only minor warpage. I should be able to massage out the little bends in them, at least there are no creases or kinks.
Do still feel free to drop by Laurence ...

Yes indeed - Practical Classics May 2013 issue. Plenty of pictures and information, with it and a workshop manual you should have no trouble.JimB wrote:Wasn't there a recent magazine article on rebuilding a Triumph six pot?

Re: Rear end shunts and the hunt for an Outer Valance
Hi Julian,
I´m not sure how useful this will be to you but at the garage where I work, there is the rear half of a white Triumph 2000 Mk2 which was cut from a front-end damaged car. It´s straight and rust-free but would obviously require the valance removing/unstitching for you to use on your car ...

Re: Hydraulically Challenged
Thanks JS - that´s a very useful link. I´ll get in touch with Powertrack and order up a kit as soon as I know the cylinder is serviceable. I shall have to drain the brake fluid out of the servo itself and check the diaphragm first though

That´s very kind Laurence, hopefully it´s an offer I won´t need to take you up on but it´s nice to know I can if it all goes pear-shaped !

Re: Stainless roofline trim sections
Thanks Alan, i´ll give that a go - might soak them in WD40 for a while first as there´s bound to be a load of rust helping them stay put !
With a bit of luck i´ll still have some fingernails to speak of by the end of tomorrow
