Thanks Lloyd, I'm on the mend (again) but frustrated by the millstone that is a non-weight baring plaster cast for the next 5 weeks.
At least I am back on the forum now that my password has been reset to allow me access via my early xmas present notebook.

Hello All,

I've just read through the posts on this thread, and along with others, would like to express appreciation for the efforts Lloyd is making to achieve re-manufacture of panels. The technical options for tooling and costs for both tooling and production that Lloyd has mentioned look pretty consistent with what we're seeing at the Stag Owners' Club Tooling Fund.

The Stag Owners Club is always happy to share knowledge or experience across the Triumph community, either through the Triumph Forum or directly with other clubs and we'd be happy to discuss any specific issues on current projects if this would help.

Best regards
Philip Wardle

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the offer of help, I would say 'yes please'!
Perhaps we could chat off line about this. Could you drop me an email to chairman@triumph2000register.co.uk

Many thanks

Re: panel update ?charitable tooling fund

following on from phil wardles post
Is the register a charity?

If not could it have a charitable section to allow donations or bequests etc into it thus allowing reclamation of basic rate tax (from tax payers) to aid funding of potentially large project such as lloyd is working on.

If such an option were available i for one would be willing to stump up some cash.

No we are not a charity, we are a ltd company, needed to protect the members and the directors from personal liability.

Having charitable status brings in ALL sorts of extra problems, paperwork, controls and limitations. The work needed would require there to be one board person dedicated to dealing with it ......... and the Register has enough trouble getting enough people to step up and do their bit as it is.

I have just sent a letter to Alan about a possible way of funding the production of re-manufactured parts, in part being able to support 'independents' like Lloyd (panels) and myself (screens). Based upon my experience it would I suspect reflect much of the greater experienced advice Peter would be able to offer.

However as Alan commented to me, to do this requires someone on the Board to have responsibility for it, and look at what happened with the Spares Group - less than 3% of CT and Register big saloon owners thought it worth supporting!

The bottom line is that if you want spare panels get out there people and support Lloyd's very hard work, and for G*ds sake stop jibbing about his very reasonable prices from which like me with the screens he gets nothing financial, just the pleasure of having helped fellow enthusiasts.
