My engine oil pressure, when fully warmed up, albeit on axle stands, is 60 psi at tick over which increases to nearly 100 psi when revved. Is this too high and if so what should I consider looking at apart from the oil pressure relief valve?
Thanks.

Re: Oil pressure
Hello Binny,
while it may be up to water temperature, the oil will still be relatively cold.
I would wait until you drive it on the road before doing anything about it. Also consider the accuracy of the pressure gauge?
The oil pressure relief valve may have stuck so that is the right area to look at, has the car been standing for some time?

Re: Oil pressure
Hi Alec,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, the car has been standing for twenty five years.
I’ll strip and clean the oil pressure relief valve and then see what happens once it’s back on its wheels and being driven.
