Triumph 2500S Auto wanted

#1 Post by davee60 »

Iv'e just re-joined the club and I am looking to purchase ideally a late 2500S automatic saloon preferably with cloth trim, might consider a Mk2 2.5 Auto saloon. Ideally restored as i'm getting on a bit now.
Must be an auto or manual priced so that I could have it converted to auto. If anyone knows for anything going please let me know, ideally Bristol area but not essential.
Cheers

The 'S' is probably one of the most sought after Mk2 models along with the PI.
There were only approx. 10,000 made (saloons and estates) but due to the quality of steel used during manufacture, late models corroded badly and many were scrapped (I've been guilty of scrapping at least 6 over the years..... :( )
According to the 'How Many Left' figures there are only 57 currently licenced, and 69 sorn'd. In this there are less than 10 of each which are autos. This doesn't take into account incorrectly described models when 1st registered (this was down to the details given to the licencing authorities by the supplying dealer) or vehicles that have been off the road prior to the SORN requirement in 1998). These figures may not be 100% accurate, but give an indication that you may have a long search on your hands to find the right car!
But good luck!
