I think that is a 'Calthorpe' camper conversion, being an Atlas Major it should have the larger wet liner 1670cc engine which is a small version of the TR engine and a lot more capable than the 948cc Herald engine of the original Atlas.
Looks great and a very worthy alternative to a split screen VW.

Nice!

A mate of mine used to drive the van version of this for his dad's business back in the late 60's, and under heavy braking you could get the rear wheels off the road, it was that light on the back because of the massive overhang on the front axle. As for traction, it could get stuck in a puddle, and the 948cc version wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding !

I have wanted an Atlas for as long as I can remember, they are just so rare though and good ones attract big money especially the campers. If my numbers come up tonight I shall be buying this!

It's the campers and minibuses which have tended to survive. Not worked so hard. Kept under cover and locked away in a garage when the owner's too old to drive. There was a Jennings camper - more like a motorhome - sold on Ebay recently for a squeak over £6K.

Wonder how many are left on the road? I've heard a figure of 10 (*).
