I,ve been told that STAG front seats will fit , in place of the standard seats in my 2.5S.
IS THIS CORRECT PLEASE?...HAS ANYONE DONE THIS SWOP? ARE THEY A DIRECT REPLACEMENT, OR WILL THE FLOOR PAN NEED RE-DRILLING?
Have tried swopping over existing front seats-THEY DON,T FIT!! The chrome backrest adjusting handles are then on the outsides, and the front doors won,t close!!!
Cheers,
Barry.<edited><editID>Bazzamech</editID><editDate>38741.3662847222</editDate></edited>

Alan,
For a start STAG seats are more comfortable, and give more support at the sides! If I can find a better DRIVERS seat than mine, one that doesn,t sag, and also keeps the backrest in position while I,m driving, then why not?
As I can,t afford RECARO,s, looks like I,ll have to go for second best!
Regards,
Barry.

Barry,
Reccaros, (front, rears, and the seat belts, £100 off ebay!!!)
Am I right in thinking your S is an estate?
What colour/trim/style are you after? I may be able to help with some as new (literally, BL originals that have been in a car for less than 1 year!) They are brown vinyl headrest front and estate rears, perfect. Ideal for vinyl-coating to your colour if you don\'t want a toffee/beige colour.............?
Won\'t be cheap mind..........
Rgds

Alan,
Thanks for the offer, but I,ll give it a miss as my cash will be tied up with more urgent repairs, so expensive seats will have to wait!
Second hand STAG seats, would be a cheaper, short term alternative to what is fitted at the moment.
Regards,
Barry.

Alan,
I would have thought Stag seats were more in keeping with a 2500S so long as they are a colour match. They are Triumph and of the correct period. The 2500S was, and is, a fairly brisk saloon/estate -but never a sports car. So why pretend?
Just my view. And we still haven\'t answered Barry\'s question!

To be recommended are used Interceptor front seats. They do not look out of place (in a black interior car).
I have mounted Mk2 fronts in my 2500, replacing the worn out cloth seats. Very comfortable and good side support. Easy fix: the seat runners stay put on the floor, the bolts holding the seat are long enough to fit through 2x2 cm square lengths. On these the seat is mounted.

Couldn;t agree more, Stag seats will be in-keeping with the style of the car.
The reccaro\'s I\'m fitting into a PI saloon that I\'m building ready for the Club Triumph RBRR. Something a bit different, and ready for 2500 miles in 48hrs I want comfy seats!!
No-one has yet anwered the question, so I\'m guessing that no-one knows!
Why don\'t you contact the Stag owners club and ask them for the dimensions of the seat/frame/runners which will help you worl out of they will fit?

Alan,
After rummaging through some old mags, in PRACTICAL CLASSICS, MAY 2002, there,s a picture of a CANLEY CLASSICS modified 2000 estate, with STAG front seats installed.
That,s answered my question, thanks.
Regards,
Barry.
