I wonder how many went? We had a great stand organised by Colin and Amanda with 3 great cars on show. The picture show was a great success too.
Personally, both Ann and I had a good time too - helping to man the stand on both Friday and Saturday. Despite the long and tiring days, we really enjoyed ourselves and met some interesting people who were happy to chat about their cars or their parents cars, mostly with fond memories. There was one chap though that said that whenever he saw a 2000 all he thought about were bills. He even said it as though it was our fault!
Congratulations must go to all who helped with the organisation, especially Colin and Amanda. Put us down for next year!
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Classic Car show at the NEC
Hear! Hear! A really good show and the stand was excellent, even though someone had gone and stuck a big pilalr holding the roof up slap in the middle of it. I thought Colin and Amanda did a great job in organising the layout - it was eye catching and explained who we are and what we do. I'm hoping to squeeze a brief "Stop Press" review into the next SIXappeal which goes to print this week and there will be a fuller review with pictures next time.
And my thansk as well to all who donated cars and time to help on the stand. Well done, all!

I very much enjoyed looking at your stand, and not without some sympathy! We (The Rover SD1 Club) had one of those hall dividing pilars in our stand in 2009 and it was a bloomin nuiscence! The only consolation is that some other poor club will get it next year because they do try not to give you a pillar two years on the trot! I was pleased they finally got all the Triumphs and Rovers (Locals!) in to the same hall.

Re: Classic Car show at the NEC
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the compliments. We already knew we had a pillar in the stand, but the dividers hanging from it were an unexpected bonus. It did allow us, with the aid of Bob and Doreen Maddock to create a 'different' look to the stand, thinking outside of the box was the order of the day.
We had a great if tiring time and and would like to thank everyone who helped on the stand publicly. So here goes:
Bob and Doreen Maddock, Mike and Ann Stevens, Kevin and Ann Warrington, Ken Bryant, Brian 'stand man' Millington, Sharon, Derek and Jamie Furnell, Alan Chatterton and Mike Weaver, and last but not least Mike's wife Ann (there's a theme here!) who towed Mike's car on the trailer from their house to the NEC (somebody's Audi wouldn't 'talk' to the lights on the trailer!), even though she had never towed anything previously. A car size gap on the stand would not have looked so good, so thanks again.

Your pictures look good. Shame about the idiot with the white beard and coffee cup in the first one though! (Me!sally wrote:I very much enjoyed looking at your stand, and not without some sympathy
Let's hope for a pillar-less stand next year.
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Classic Car show at the NEC
Brian's PI Estate looks fab and I saw Bob's Mark 1 in the flesh last week (wow). Three top-quality cars on one stand, with the added interest of the FF Estate. Great stuff, wish I'd been able to go.
