I think Lee is hoping for a few dirty phone calls later on!
I may ring him and get my puppie to pant down the line to him, !!
(getting my puupie to pant is not some deviant term, I really meant Dog and phone of course!!)

It's quite a while since anyone has posted on this topic, so here goes!
Since I've been driving, I've owned all of the following but not always in the chronological order shown.(but the peanut was my first car when I passed my test in '86)
'57 A35, '72 BMW 3.0csi,'77 1850HL Dolomite,'78 1850HL Dolomite,'85 FIAT Regata 100S, '87 FSO 125P,2x '87 Lancia Prisma LX,'87 FIAT Croma ieSX, '89 FIAT Uno 45S, '89 Volvo 440GLE, '93 Lancia Dedra 2.0ie Turbo,'94 FIAT Tempra SW tdSX, '00 SAAB 9-5 SE airflow,'01 FIAT Punto ELX and an '02 JEEP Grand Cherokee.

The current fleet at our house is '75 2500S estate (HOE), '98 Peugeot 206 LD (HOJ), '88 Kawasaki ZX10 and a '79 Suzuki GS550E.

I have enjoyed owning all of the cars I have had, with the exception of the Volvo, which was an awful, gutless, rusty piece of swedish sh@#e, never buy a small volvo, they make big estates for a reason!

The FSO was bought for £350 at 5yrs old and 24k miles for work. I did another 24k in 12mths mostly 5 up and boot full of tools, and sold it for £325. I put 14 inch alloys off a Lancia Beta on her which raised the gearing quite a lot, and used to fly around the M25 at 85mph+ mixing it with shocked reps in Sierras and Cavaliers. All I had to replace in that time was 2 alternators, very basic transport and a design at least as old as our Triumphs, but it still had discs all round! Wow the steering was heavy with those bigger alloys too.

The Lancia Dedra Turbo was the rarest car I have owned, with only 268 rhd examples imported, it was also very quick being a 2wd integrale under the skin, perhaps a '90s italian Dolomite Sprint.

The BMW csi was perhaps the best engineered, with dual servos and mastercylinders, 4pot front calipers (2pots off each servo and mastercylinder for real dual circuit safety!), and vented discs all round! Not forgetting a rear suspension not dissimilar to the one on our cars. A fantastic car in every way,(it cost £6000 in '72 or 2 e-types) and from when BMW made a small amount of very nice cars that people aspired too, not like today where they are so common.

Seems as good a place as any to introduce myself because the car choices speak for me rather better than I do myself.

Current drives:
1965 Triumph 2000 Mk1 (all 2.5 Pi'd up)
1966 Lotus Elan Series 2
1968 Jensen Interceptor Mk1

Former drives:
Mini
Herald 1200
Mini Scamp
Dolomites (a few)
VW Polo
TR7
Lancia Delta Integrale
Westfield Eleven
Lotus Elise
Rover P5B coupé
Piper P2

Hello all,

a little of my car history,

since a Fiat Abarth 750 Derrivarione (1955 model) which I owned until about 1968, I had a Wloseley 1500, Riley 1.5, Victor FD estate to which I fitted an 1558 MGA engine, AC Aceca.
A short time in Africa saw a Ford Anglia, Ford Corsair GT and Ford Cortina GT
Back in the UK about 1975 started my first Triumph 2000 (MK 1), then a MK 2 Jaguar 3.8 (which I still own and have been restoring off and on for a few years), several more Triumphs and a fulfilment of a dream by running an Aston Martin DB5 for many years (As my everyday car, rain shine or snow). Now I run my MK 1 2.5 P.I. engined as my road car. I have never owned a 'modern' car.

MK1.5 2.5 P.I.
Jaguar MK 2 (Long term restoration, nearing completion.)

Sounds like a dream garage. Some pretty exotic machinery there, Alec. Question is, which one did you enjoy the most?
