Hello i have a 2.5pi estate which im in 2 minds of selling as i never use the car in fear of it getting wet, its a early 1973 (2 weeks out of being tax except)as you can see from the picture looks really nice and is as original as your going to get a 35 year old car (paint is original as well) still has plastic on door panels.
its had 1 previous owner who obviously had the car from new up til about 2 years ago, as some board members might know its had a new metering unit, distributor pedistal, plugs points etc, has been tuned by mooredale motors in potters bar and drives really well now
has MOT and tax has 48,000 with all original paperwork and to me is to good to use as its so original, my problem is there are no other estates in this condition to gage a price, to be honest i havent seen many estates at all.
i was hoping someone on the forum would know roughly what its worth and any ideas on what classic to get that can be used abit more than i use this.
Thanks Pete

Re: 2.5PI estate
Hello Pete,
I'm not very good on prices but I would say that from your description there would be quite a bit of interest in such a car.
However you ask about getting another classic, I don't know why you want a different one? Certainly there are few as nice that you can get for the price of your estate?
Alec

Re: 2.5PI estate
I was thinking of putting the car on ebay and taking a chance, will probably also take it to the bromley car pageant, most of my freinds tell me to keep it and use it, but of all the classic car shows i go to you do not see alot of the triumph 2000 range so would like the car to go to someone who will keep it in the original condition it is now.

Re: 2.5PI estate
Now that is a nice car, too smart for me though as im looking for another 2000 to modifiy, but it needs to be a bit of a dog, i.e stuffed or no engine, actually a rolling shell would be quite good.
Keep it and enjoy it, you should get £3000 - £3500 for it easy, probably a lot more if the right people are interested ....you know who you are
I wouldn't risk ebaying it, the last couple of cars I sold on ebay actually ended up being sold privately through people interested in the auction, maybe an ebay classified ad would be good as you can go 30 days with them.

Re: 2.5PI estate
I agree - don't ebay it. Banger racers pay big money for tidy 2000s from ebay - my MK1 is such a case .

KEEP IT! I have had Dolomites, Vitesse TRs GT6s etc etc KEEP IT
Re: 2.5PI estate
Keep it, put some nice minilites or other alloys on it and enjoy it, but keep the standard wheels for originality should you sell it!
