Fuel pump

Are the fuel pumps interchangeable? I have a 1978 NZ Triumph 2000TC the fuel pump has the bowl on top, the manual says that’s the old version, can this be changed to the newer version which doesn’t have the see through bowl?

Yes, it will work absolutely fine - just make sure the operating lever on the engine side is at the correct angle as there were similar looking versions for other models where the lever was at a shallower angle.
The only real difference between the two is that on some metal topped versions, the inlet union is at a different angle, but it doesn't usually cause any problem.
