Hello everyone!
Nice to be here. Hope all are well.
Sadly I have no Triumph yet, but I will be on the lookout for a really nice Mark 1 or 2 2000/2500/2.5 automatic later this year. Not right now, as I have to sort a couple of other cars first.
i live in the wilds of Ayrshire, S.W. Scotland, but distance is no object. I have been a petrol head all my life, but now getting on in years, so will not looking for a project. I have never owned a Triumph, but have owned what would now be regarded as classics ; Rover 105S, Renault 16, Ford Cortina 1600 Mark 3, Peugeot 309, Mazda 626, Volvo 340 (2 of them), SAAB 96V4 (2 of them), SAAB 9000 2.3 CDE, SAAB 9000 Aero (really love SAABs), etc.
I have always admired the lines of the 2000 back in the day (btw am particularly fond of its predecessor the Standard Vanguard Phase 3 (am also a member of the Standard Owners Club).
I am now retired, so i can devote plenty of time to looking after and maintaining cars. Like many people of my generation, we could only afford old cars in our youth, so we had to learn how to look after them to save money lol.
Anyway, that's all for now. Looking forward to meeting you guys/gals at future meetings and events.
Take care.
Best regards
Stephen

Hi Stephen,
I'm glad we got your registration sorted. Good luck with the search for a car - after you've sorted some other cars first. It can be never ending!
I guess my real love is the 2000 range. I bought my 1st one in 1974 and always have had one since but sadly at the moment, not one on the road. I'm currently restoring an early Mk2 PI but the restoration has stalled recently due to some health issues - and the cold in the garage!
As in my signature line, I also have a Mk2 Stag and a series 1 Land Rover, both of which are "on the road" and I restored 'recently'.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your help in getting me registered and for your kind words.
It was interesting to hear about your cars, and your history with the Triumph 2000. I am sorry to hear of your health issues; I hope they will be resolved soon, and you can continue with your restoration of your PI.
No doubt I will find what I'm looking for in due course. I need to learn a lot more about the 2000, before I take the plunge though. That's where the Register comes in, and I will be able to meet up with other enthusiasts at the various events. I'm sure I will also make some new friends in the process.
Thanks again for your help.
All the best
Stephen
