Hi,
I have run my 2500 PI (on carbs) for the last 7 years only on unleaded, This has included towing caravans, fast motorway use and general poodling about with no valve seat recession at all. I use Tesco Super and Shell Super (the ferrari stuff, can't remember the name of it) any other (Esso Super, BP Super plus ordinary unleaded) and I get trouble with running on. I still have the PI head with a 2000S camshaft and am using SU HS6 carbs. I regularly check the clearances but none have closed up. I have a garage near me that still sells leaded fuel but have found no need to use it so far!!
