Hi all, I am ineed of v seat replacement to go unleadded
does any one know of a good person to do the job.
How easy is an unleaded conversion?
Hello Sent,

any engine reconditioner should be able to do such a job. If you give a location, maybe someone can recommend a specific establishment from experience.

The other question is why do you want to have this done? If the valve seats have worn away then that\'s fine but there is no need to do such work on a serviceable engine.

Alec
Hi Alec, got to have head off to do the oil core plug at the back of the head , got rebuild kit from rimmers. it has new guides in it so I am going to get them done, and at the same time have the seats dun. The core plug under the ex manerfold is now wepping this started sunday on the way home from the show, so head off and rebuild so it will be like new I hope. Got to lower box and do the o/d wiring, ( J type) printed of your response from an earler thread, and now know why it\'s not working, after dropping the sump on o/d cleaning release valve and all that. I from Abingdon, oxon, don\'t know how to put my name and where I\'m from on the page like yours,
thanks Pete

Hello Pete,

Ok, good luck with the work. It is really a very basic machining job, however I have read tales of shoddy workmanship so be carefull who you select to do the work

The address at the end of the post is accessed by going to \'settings\' on the top of the website, then \'edit profile\', scroll down and you will find a box for \'signature\' just fill that in and \'save\' at the bottom.

Alec
Hi Alec, I have spoken to man at oselli race engines, looks like Ill let them do it it will be around £250 + Vat, they have built a race lump for me many moons ago. Its just had bare metal respray, put it together friday & saturday finished it 11pm on saturday night. got to stoneleigh. Thought that was it, but oil and water leak on the way home and missfire- bogging down, out with the wallet again, so hopefully I mite be able to detail the engine bay .

Hi Pete,
I live just outside Didcot, so not too far away.
Oselli are OK as are Paynes out at Eynsham. I\'ve always used them rather than Oselli. I\'ve had blocks decked, heads skimmed, cranks ground and new valve seats in the Stag heads and LandRover block, (it has side exhaust, overhead inlet valves). All their worked seemed OK.
Cheers,
Mike.

Hi Mike & Alec, Oselli are now at witney, in the past they have done my ford race lumps for the national hot rods, never had a problem with them, and I moved a car for them to Scotland, so I was renewing old frendships. Mike it\'s nice to know that there is a member close, when you are in a big club, you don\'t meet anyone they are all ways miles away, if I can be of any help let me know.
