Wanted 2500S rear panel badge

#1 Post by Fluery »

Hi All

Looking for an unfaded 2500s badge. Mine has faded completely and is totally illegible.

Just bought my first Triumph. The car is located in Sydney Australia so maybe the sun got at it or did this happen to all badges?

regards

The '2500S' badge on the rear panel and the 'S' badge on the 'C' pillars are always prone to fading, and the black letters become a gold colour. It happens here in the UK, so it can't be sun related!!!! Worth checking Ebay, and the parts suppliers that can be found in the Register magazine Six Appeal, unless someone on here has a good secondhand one they would be willing to part with!

The badge on later cars on the front panel had a smooth surface - it was the earlier models (upto approx 1973) that had raised lettering that were prone to fading.
For some reason, on the 'S' (and later cars), the front badge was smooth and the rear and C pillar badges were all raised lettering.
The early Mk2's with the enamelled rear badges were the best!
