Bit of advice please. After 3 months of tinkering and welding the car is now legal.
It has Stromberg CD 150 CDSE B5CB's fitted ( Its a 72 2000 and done 32k miles) Its done its first fifty miles in the last 20 years and after initially running terribly (popping and farting) its now just lumpy.
A clean of the float bowls has turned into a strip. The back carb was full of debris and the needle is clearly bent with a very slight rub mark so its getting replaced. Question is does the jet also need replaced?
The reason I ask is I have done some research and it would appear the jets are fixed and a press fit. It looks like it could be quite tricky and I am slightly nervous of buggering up the carb body or distorting the jet if its a very tight fit.
Anyone replaced their jets? Also looking for a setting measurement.
Thanks
Alan H
If it gives any clues to the emissions readings were :
% vol co: 5.988
ppm HC: 509
Lambda: 0.839
AFR: 12.334
% Vol CO2: 11.22
% Vol O2 0.69
@16 degrees C
The levels did make me chuckle in comparison to a modern car.
CD150 CDSE jet advice please
