Nice motor, and obviously an Icon, a good one would be one for the fantasy garage for sure, but value (and MOT) aside I wouldn’t pick it over my 2500TC. Arguably the big Sixers are rarer than E-types anyhoo IME, I can’t recall the last time I saw a one, must be five years or more at least, but E-types I’ve seen several this year. I reckon the TC sounded better than his E-type too

covet thy neighbours car?
I went to see my folks over lunch and we ended up chatting with his neighbour. He was trying to balance the carbs on his E type (4.2 coupe 2+2). It’s LHD which he bought from somewhere hot (minimal rust) but is pretty much otherwise an unrestored but MOT’d runner. This one would need some reasonable investment to make it great, new interior etc

I agree!
I have a series 1 e-type parked next to mine in the garage that I have to look after. The Mk 2 2000 is always my preference to drive when I open the doors.
