The Triumph 2000 / 2500 / 2·5 Register Forum

Hello All -

I've owned a 67 TR2000 for about 25 years. It was a daily driver when I was in college but has been parked for over 20 years now. Wife and I had two Triumphs back then - 1980 TR7 Black Convertible w/ Silver and the TR2000. Decided which car was more unique and reliable at the time so we decided to keep the TR2000. The 2000 was originally owned by a school friend of mine that I purchased from him for $1,000.

The car has been stored in a heated garage for about 20 years. I would like to get it drivable again or just move on. So here I am again thinking about doing this and I'm back to two leaky 150 CD Strombergs!

Very nice. Those MK1's certainly got around in the world! There was a gentleman on the 2000 fb group who bought a 'barn find' in Mombasa, Kenya, and is going to get it back on the road. For obscure British cars like these I don't envy you for the postage costs for parts, especially when larger things are needed. It must be easier to fix up a locally made car, but where's the challenge in that.

And, it's just a 'Triumph 2000' (Mk1) isn't it? I don't think they were called 'TR2000' in America, but I could be wrong. The TR designation was only used on roadsters.

Great looking alloys on there from what I can see. Look like the Wolfrace ones I have on my old Range Rover

Well there you go. I'm not old enough to remember the Standard 10
