My car has developed a grinding noise from the rear passenger side half shaft. I think this means a new halfshaft and the usual bits. Can anyone advise me if I'm right and if so where can I find a replacement? If second hands are available only then where could I get the re-conditioning done at a sensible price? I'm based in Nth Hampshire. Also, what would be the best brands of parts needed to do the re-conditioning?
Regards
Phil

Hello Phil,
possibly the hub bearings, take the wheel and the brake drum off to get a better feel of things. You shouldn't really be able to feel any play in the hub and it should turn smoothly. I don't think that the drive shaft would be the source of the grinding, although it may be as well to replace the universal joints while you are at it?
I can't really say who is the best for spares but you'll get quality parts from Chris Witor.
