update on panel remanufacture

hi everyone,

my meeting with the manufacturer on monday, went very well im glad to say.

they are going to do me a pair of the following, so i can check them over and then post them off too certain members that will be using them straight away, thus allowing those menbers to leave feedback on the build quality and ease of fitment, ( of both i have no doubt ) to put peoples mind at rest about the quality, before spending thier money.

1st mk1 rear arches ( in one piece )
2nd mk1 rear lower wing section ( for now will end just below the bumper hole )
3rd mk2 front arches
4th mk1 front arches

the orders i have are very close for making it financially viable to get permanent tooling made for all of the above, hense the reason i have only had one pair of each done for now.

i have available to me, a vast range of nos panels ( some mine and some from very helpfull members, one in particular ) and we must all thank them for that !!! as this venture would not be possible without thier help.

my aim within the next 18 months is to be able to provide you all with, most, if not all the panels you need to keep your cars on the road and away from the scrapyards and the banger boys.

please be patient, and i promise, the panels will be done.

i know most of you are desperate for panels and i am doing my upmost to hurry things along.

the first pair of panels should be with me within three weeks ( but ive heard that before !!! ) but with planting my boot firmly up the arses of the manufacturer on monday, im confident they will deliver on time !!!!

i will know the fixed price of each panel, once they are made, as it is determined by the number of man hours taken to make said panels.

im doing other things part time, and doing this in the rest of my time, i did best part of 500 miles on sun/monday, plus having to hire a van to pick up panels off members, i just need more hours in the day   but i will get there :D

my thanks to everyone

lloyd

Now that is real commitment to the cause...

This is great to see as it means many of these great cars will last a lot longer than they probably whould have done had this hard work not taken place!

Brilliant...

Well done Lloyd

Its a challenge to achieve consistent form/fit of panels, affordable cost, and continuity of supply given relatively low volumes. However it can be done, and is perhaps one of the key enablers to keeping the cars on the road.
