Seen it done using Jag manifolds I think.............. but it may have been triple SU's.........?

There are a couple of threads on the Club Triumph and Sideways forums on all the reasons not to.

Triumph apparently considered triple Strombergs as a production option for the Mk1 but didn't take matters any further. AMI in Australia did subsequently offer a triple-Stromberg option on the 2000MD model but I'm afraid I don't know whether their manifolds drew on Triumph designs or were solely a local effort.

I too remember seeing a triple-carb conversion on a 2000 using a modified Jaguar manifold, but can't remember any further details... :(
