Windscreen plillars
Hello Brian,

I was not aware that this is a problem area? For that to happen it
seems that water is leaking where it shouldn\'t. Screen rubber? then by
capiliary action into the pillar, but why doesn\'t it drain out?
To answer your question, but not from experience (as I never have
experienced it), I would look at removing the inner pillar trim and
drilling a hole to inject the waxoil. This will not be visible once the
trim is replaced and easily accessible for regular treatment. (Just two
self tappers per trim)
Hello Alec
I imagined that this must be a common problem area because three of my four big Triumphs have rotted here. Maybe I just have a bad lot! I was thinking along the lines of removing the pillar trim to gain access, so I\'ll have to investigate.
By the way, the North Wales Group is almost certain to go ahead in conjunction with Club Triumph. Just have to find a venus now. I\'ll keep you posted!
Regards, Brian

New meeting guys??? Excellent!
Do you want any help with contacting members in your area, ie mailshots? We can help organise (and pay for) this if you would like.
Let me know off line at triumph2.5pi@virgin.net

I have had this problem on my Mk1 (even in Australia where things like sills last indefinitely on some cars)
I repaired by cutting good panels from a wreck and using it as a repair panel. I agree that capillary action around the windscreen seal and between the spot welds into the roof pillar (which is probably poorly painted) is the likely cause. The fix is not easy.
Maybe I could chop out some good panels from Rust free Ozzy wrecks and send them to Blighty as repair panels??
