Stoneleigh March 9th.

Not been to this before, but I am venturing down this time with a mate to see if the hype is right.
I've heard that it's very good for getting parts so I'm putting a list together mentally of what things to look out for, am I likely to be dissapointed with what's there and would I be better off just ordering the bits I need now? If nothing else I suppose I will save p&p on anything I buy.
How have you all found the show in the past?
Cheers Colin.

We've been a couple of times, planning to go this year and I always get into trouble for spending too much money - a set of Levo-Artis ramps one year, but usually lots of little things for cleaning and polishing. I'm not quite come out like a certain other regular poster, but I'm also a secret polisher.
There's lots to look at and plenty of cars, plus huge numbers of people. Car parking is a bit rough and the queues to get in can be a pain, but it is a good day. Not sure whether you actually save any money, other than postage costs.

And are these ramps as useful as they look on the internet Kevin?

Both my father and I will be going, but not in our Triumphs. I spent a fortune last time and got some bargains. I will be taking a huge pocket full of cash with me

Yup, we plan to go this year, not having been to Stoneleigh before or in fact to any classic show for a while.
It sounds like I'd better get some cash and extract the cheque book from 'you-know-who' without her noticing!
It'll be nice to put faces to some Forum names too.
Cheers,
Mike.

Should we all wear name badges for the event, and should we use our Forum names or real names?
You are right though Mike, it would be nice to put some names to faces, if only to thank them for previous words of wisdom concerning 'our' cars. Perhaps we should all wear name badges................

Absolutely - a little expensive, but very well made and worth the money, in my (humble) opinion. I really wanted a lift in my garage (you can pick these up second hand dirt cheap, apparantly), but this would have meant changing the garage doors, so far too much hassle.
Assembly is a few minutes - it is a bit daunting driving on at first (I can hear Ann saying "I don't like this bit") as you have to be dead straight, but just needs a bit of care - or a mirror in the garage, I suppose. Once the car is up in the air, it is a comfortable height to work on when laying on one of those padded cradle on wheel things.
When not in use, they live down the centre of my garage between the cars, but would, I think, go underneath the 2000.

Sorry to say this, but I will not be at Stoneleigh the 9th : I'd rather come on Sunday, the 8th
More seriously, I will be there also on Saturday, and I am ready to help Allan Crussel for "erecting" the club stand, as done before, if necessary.
I look forward to spend some time with others Register members,
Cheers,
Chris.
