How tight should you do up the wheel nuts on the alloys? On the CT message board someone said 45 lbft. Sounds too low as GT6 is 38-42 lbft with a much smaller stud. Also people on the CT site complain about them working loose.
btw my nuts are steel.

my Triumph workshop manual lists the wheel nut torque as 55 - 60 Lbsft. That is for steel wheels though. <br>
The only wheel problem I experienced was with some Alleycat alloys
some time ago. The front wheel studs were snapping. What I found was
that the bore of the wheel center was too small and fouled the hub
centre thus they were not seating correctly on the face of the hub. I
was able to relieve the wheels quite easily and had no further
problems. <br>

I tighten the alloy nuts to about 50lbs ft on my estate and have had no problems

If you have steel nuts then 50/55 lbs is fine on S alloys
If you have the original alloy nuts then tighten to 30lb/ft only or they will strip! (Hence why all my cars have chrome plated steel nuts!
