i know its gunna be hectic at first, but there must be somebody out there willing to aid in this formation and when its sorted, us members will have cars on tap for when we want to buy one back from the formation to restore ( at say + 25% of purchase cost ???? )

lloyd
25% seems reasonable for those who have not put anything in (ie: not 'members'), but a little steep for those who have Lloyd.
Just my thoughts.

Lee don't spend it all if you dont have to though!!!!! (living in Yorkshire is really effecting me  )

Colin .................you know me better than that but the seller is an EX Yorkshire man himself.........

Lloyd, can I just confirm which car is possibly being purchased at the mo??

I only ask because I have just seen Laurance's post regarding the Mk1 in Falkirk, which is not too far from me!! He seems to be asking quite a high price on gumtree, but if it is still there at the start of next week I shall see if I can arrange to meander over and have a look, and try and see what price he realistically wants. Bill Murray (my fellow Scottish 2000 owner) is meant to be popping over to visit in a couple of weeks to collect a seat for his saloon which I have picked up for him, so we may be able to put our heads together.

Just to clarify, I believe Lloyd copied my post over from CT, but I can supply a trailer and possibly storage in Central Scotland, however I am a seaman by profession and hence spend 7-8 months of the year working on the opposite side of the planet, so I will be able to supply little in the way of organising etc (except when I am here of course).

Cheers,

Phil

colin and amanda, thanks for the dosh, very good of you both :D
colin, the 25% was just a number i picked from the air that sounded right, this is all moving soooooo quickly, plus with the panel stuff and work on top, im just thinking on my feet here as i go
as stated before, there are alot of issues that need to be sorted, most urgent of all, a bank account and name.
IF IT HELPS FOR NOW, UNTIL THIS IS SORTED, IVE GOT A BARCLAYS BANK ACCOUNT THAT I DONT USE, ITS GOT £10 IN THERE AND HAS HAS FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS !!!! SO THERES ANOTHER TENNER IN THE KITTY, SHOULD WE CHOOSE TO USE THE ACCOUNT.

if we can sort a name out, i will go and see the bank manager and open an account. ( but im guessing its not that simple  )

THROW SOME NAMES AT ME GUYS,

laurance, sorry i didnt reply to you, its manic here, i havent heard anything more regarding the gumtree car, other than what phil just posted, and thanks again, ive just put you in charge of covering gumtree movements !!!!!!! welcome aboard

phil, its the mk1 that lee has found, nottingham / derby way, but if you could have a look at the one near you, that would be fab, and dont worry about being away at sea and not being able to " do your bit " as you already have / are doing so, i think you and bill are gunna be our saving grace up there in scotland and if you wanna leave me the keys to your storage when you set sail, im sure i can have some " prezzies " in there for you upon your return

any more thoughts about the v5 guys, if we can come up with a name, as ted surgested ill ring the dvla and see what they say is the way to do it, if push comes to shove and the seller isnt happy to leave the v5 as it is, whom ever is buying the car/s at the time will have to put thier name on it ???

AND DONT FORGET, IF WE FIND A MK1 PI CAN I PLEEEEEEEEEEEEESE HAVE FIRST DIBS ON IT, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE  LOL

i gotta say people, what a responce in less than a week, the emails, calls, texts, pm"s and posting im getting regarding offers of money, storage and help is overwhelming, IT WOULD SEEM THAT THE OWNERS AND LOVERS OF THE 2000 RANGE, ARE AS BRILLIANT AS THE CARS THEMSELVES !!!!!! :D

keep it comming triumph lovers

bill, the next one as you put it, is just what we are after, as it looks like the first one is on its way to us hopefully ( go lee !! ), so you and others have started the funds rolling on that, jolly good chaps you all are :D .

i have had a thought, as this " project " grows, should we have an " unofficial " or " official " ? restorer of all these cars we will be gathering over the years, chris witor is our unofficial parts person in most peoples eyes, so why not with this ???? no point having loads of cars saved, if we have no one to restore them for us, yes there are are many companies out there, but most are not cheap, and some i could mention ( but wont ) do a crap job and charge the earth !!!!!!!!!!

in my opinion, ill put my hand in the air for andy dann ( willows40 ), nice guy, knows his stuff and is very reasonable on cost, also he has offered storage short term for one car, also, mark at southern triumphs down in bournmouth, again, nice guy.

just more of my thoughts, what do you all think ??

hi pete, thanks for those,

my fav is 2000 rescue or perhaps triumph 2000 rescue, adding the triumph would allow non members / triumph owners to instantly know what the club was about ???.

ref to the money, i guess until things are formed properly, we must entrust the monies to the member/s who are going to buy and collect the cars at that moment in time ???

one thing i have realised from pasting and copying ( as i will with this one ) posting from one club to another, is that a dedicated website needs to be made to eliminate this, and added / linked to both clubs and any other triumph club that wants to be part of this.

my best friends son designs websites, so i can get this done, THOUGHTS PLEASE GUYS.
