I\'d love to know which Mk1 PI Estate you have - the club doesn\'t know of very many - would you mind either posting (preferably), or letting me know privately, something about the car?

Okay here\'s my list.
Not been driving as long as a lot of you or have what seems like infinite quantities of disposable cash, or garage space for that matter but here goes.
1972 Hillman Avenger (orange) PEC 926L - last registered for road use in 1992.
1974 VW Beetle 1300 (BMW burgundy) NDV 388M - still on road but now with 1641 engine and painted black.
1973 VW Porsche 914 (orange) BBP585L (RHD - fairly rare) - google the plate for picture as it was when I owned it. Currently undergoing restoration as far as I know. Last registered for road use 1996.
Then we have the moderns
1999 Skoda Octavia Estate 1.9TDi. Utterly reliable until it broke its gearbox @ 190k. Still on its original clutch, rear brakes (only 1 set or replacement front disks also). Never broke anything before the gearbox.
2002 Skoda Fabia 1.4MPi. Dependable (never broken down but suffers from typical electrical gremlins). Boring. Julias car!
And finally
1972 Triumph 2000 (white) UTD 868L to present which you all know about! See members triumph section for piccie.
I too quite fancy a Stag at some point amongst others, but have still to convince Julia my wife that owning more than one classic is a good idea. Hey there\'s always that big lottery win to look forward to!!
Regards
Gavin

Here\'s my list too!
Currently owned by the family,
1949 LandRover 80\" - undergoing major rebuild.
1965 Herald 1200 soft-top - also undergoing major rebuild!
1970 2000 MoD, PAS - roadworthy!
1972 Stag MoD - in about year 15 of a rebuild (yes I have a BIG garage!)
1973 2.5PI soloon, MoD, PAS, for breaking when I get time/room.
1989 Ford Fiesta - Eldest son\'s.
1991 Volvo 940 Turbo Estate - wife\'s and family car
1994 Volvo 960 saloon - was mine until.....
1996 Jaguar 4.0 Sovereign - current daily driver.
I also have a big front garden!
Cars previously owned -
Heinkel Trojan bubble car!
1965 ex-Royal Marines LandRover
1967 Mk1 2000
1971 GT6 Mk III
1974 2500TC Estate - for spares
1975 2500S Estate
1975 Triumph 1500TC
1977 2500S Estate
1979 Dolomite 1300
1987 Volvo 740 Saloon!
My favourite? Well, all of them really, but in different ways. The Jaguar is the newest and a joy to drive, but it drinks petrol and has an AWFUL lot of electronics to go wrong. The Mk1 2000 I had for a number of years and it did 30+ return trips to University in Exeter and never let me down. The first 2500S Estate was great and also never let me down. The LandRovers...... and so it goes on.
I\'ve waffled enough.
Cheers, Mike.<edited><editID>Mike Stevens</editID><editDate>39309.5595949074</editDate></edited>

Here\'s a few that I have owned...
1966 Herald 1200
1968 Herald 1200
1970 Herald 1200
1969 Herald 1200
1964 Herald 1200 (written off by some idiot fiddling with her radio)
1963 Herald 12/50 - 38,000 miles from new
1967 Herald 12/50 - a marvellous car. I loved this car and drove it everywhere as my daily driver. Bought with 100,000 miles on the claock and I ran it for a further 50,000 miles with NO engine work! The engine still ran very sweetly and had 60 PSI oil pressure when hot! Ok, you may have noticed that I also like Heralds. I don\'t have one at the momnet but I had my first one when I was 11!
1982 Rover 3500SE SD1- a lovely thing to drive but...the electric windows packed up as did the central locking. Switches fell apart. The very expensive self levelling suspension failed. The dash warped and no matter what I did the thing rotted away. I had this car when it was just 5 years old...real BL quality!! No problems with the engine or auto box of course...
1966 Triumph 2000 MK1 - my daily car for nearly 10 years. Had covered nearly 400,000 miles!
1972 PI saloon - my daily car for about 5 years.
I currently have:
1972 PI Estate - was my daily driver for 3 years but now only goes out in the summer.
1968 Triumph 2000 MK1 - drove this daily for 3 years.
1995 Peugeot 306 Diesel - SLOW!!
1994 Peugeot 106 Diesel - my wife\'s previous car (awful!!)
2002 VE Passatt diesel - quick, quiet, regularly returns 58mpg - Mr Brown forced me to buy it as the cost of running the Triumph every day was prohibitive.
2000 Rover 200 (!) - my wife\'s daily driver.
In all the many many thousands of miles which I have driven Triumphs I honestly can only remember being let down once. This was when it was -12deg.C and my Herald 12/50 wouldn\'t start!
Off for a run in my estate now!

Current cars here are my mkII 2000 auto, TR6 PI - currently being prepared for a TR Register run to Rimini and Greece , VW Sharan diesel (50+ mpg on a run, even at motorway speeds) and a VW new Beetle that\'s currently for sale. Son and daughter both have Polo\'s of different vintages, so you can see we like VW\'s as well as Triumphs.
Working backwards, we\'ve had every model of Passat except for the current (fantastic cars as modern stuff goes and would buy another tomorrow if I needed a modern car again); 2 x Rover 820\'s (one built during British Aerospace ownership, the other when owned by BMW. The BAe one was far superior, but both did well over 100k miles in less than 3 years). We also had a VW Golf estate and a Polo as second cars for a while and an Audi A6 (boring in the extreme).
Before the spree of VW\'s we had one Renault Espace (absolute garbage, broke down and recovered 3 times in first month of ownership - \"je pense que c\'est une voiture de vendredi, M\'sieur\"!!) and a few Fords, a couple of Escorts (mk I and mk II) and a variety of Dagenham Dustbins.
My second ever car was a Triumph 1300 - bought about 5 years old for £525 on HP when I was earning £8 a week (no, I couldn\'t afford it), but it had to go and the very first when I was 17 was an HA Viva (becasue I couldn\'t afford a Morris Minor or a Herald).
And for a short period until we could unload it as a part exchange, the most exciting car ever built at Longbridge - an early MG <washes mouth out with soap and water> Maestro. The excitment was never knowing whether you\'d complete the journey under your own power as opposed to on a recovery truck. Great car, highly under-rated, on the rare occassions when it worked - which wasn\'t that often (and that b****y nagging voice!)
And along the way, I\'ve owned a 1950 Bedford OB, 1956 Bedford SB and 1958 Bristol MW coaches fpr my old business and still own a share in a 1964 Leyland Atlantean - which was the very bus that I used to go to school on. Not that I\'m eccentric in any way, of course...

Kevin,
Don\'t worry, you\'re not eccentric, nor are any of us here on the forum. It\'s the REST of them that are wierd!
Cheers, Mike.
