Re: Car Trivia

I just chose three in which at least one of the main characters had driven a Triumph as their regular mode of transport. I can only think of those that I mentioned plus Bergerac. Any more?

You win that 1 alan, those are the 3 i had in mind. Bergerac is of course the other prime example but rent-a-ghost reguarly featured a Triumph Herald, one of the main characters in boon drove a mk3 spit (cant remember characters name), Rhona in 2.4 children drove a mk2 pi and then later a mk3 spitfire. PC Rowan and his wife had a herald in the 1st couple of series of Heartbeat.

Two GT cars from the 70s/80s had a very similar cubic capacity: 5343cc and 5340cc. Name them.

I'm late for this I know, but in OFAH, Hull and back, right at the end when Slater is (unknowingly) being driven to be arrested, their Granada is passed by a white Stag (with the top down) which is in shot for about 2 seconds.

Now, how sad is knowing that?

Cheers,
Mike.

To revert to the 'Triumphs in TV Shows' question, I think that there may have been one other where a Triumph was regularly driven by the main character - again, a series from the 1970s called "Hazell" (?) where the namesake character drove a Stag.

Does that put me back ahead in the sadness stakes?

I hesitate to say this, knowing your encyclopedic knowledge on all things automotive, but it's your turn to pose a question, Jonathan.

"encyclopedic knowledge"??? Me, I know nothing!!!

OK, my starter for ten (and following from your lead, Allen  ):

Jaguar’s V12 is sometimes credited as being the first British series-production engine of its kind for passenger car use. Actually, at least two others preceded it. Whose were they? (and, as a really obscure bonus, can you identify the link between them?)

The Daimler double six of 1926 is one. Can't think of another! Only the Sunbeam V12 land speed car....which isn't really a production car!
