Checkout my blog for the rare cars I have seen today.
I wonder if our wiser (and older  ) forum members have seen these little beauties racing in the 60s and 70s?

Yeah it's a pretty car.
We got it running by pouring petrol in the top of the car, Pete wants to get it ready for the sept trackday at Blyton!
Should be an interesting drive as even the 'stndard' 997cc Delta engine was rated at over 70bhp, in a car that weighs just over 500kg it should have a pretty good turn of speed.
The other one with racing history is on narrow dunlop look wheels with tall and narrow racing tyres that look just like the type fitted to D types. That is a little further away from use though
If the red one is ready for the trackday there will be a few pics of what look like very tall people driving it, when I sat in it with the seat as far back as it would go my nose was level with the top of the screen and if I hunched down my knees were in permenant contact with the dashboard.

Followed by a match Colin?

I guess you put the petrol in the carb. I've done that before and also poured some in a spark plug hole to get a recalcitrant engine to run - mainly on the lawn mower!

I came to work in the Stag today to put some miles on it before Friday. Thanks goodness we now have some sunshine!

Cheers,
Mike.

Oh yes
I was typing slower than I was thinking.

The weather here is very nice too, long may it continue. I bet part of you never thought you would reach the end of the restoration, well done Mike, time for a well deserved break now before the LR gets 'attacked' or is it finishing touches to the Herald?

Colin.

Hi Colin,

Herald next. In theory that's nearer completion than the LandRover - at least it can be moved under its own steam. It's also down the far end of the garage where it's a bit wider.

You suggested I uploaded some pictures - just to prove we'd done it...

We've gone from this -

To this -

In less that 150 days.

Cheers,
Mike.
