Weather coming home was just appalling - a full-on blizzard at about Banbury on the M40! Glad we had the modern car and not one of the Triumphs.

Had all weathers on my 330 mile trip home,all that was missing was the plague of frogs!Best was the torrential rain for 50 miles about 100 miles from home.At least that washed off the salt from under the Triumph!.Thoroughly enjoyed the show and the hospitality I was shown.Good to meet up with people I had met at Pickering---well worth the journey. I had a good day, it's the first time I'd been (although I've been to plenty of other events there as I only live 10 mins away) and I thought it was good, I would've liked to have seen more cars there as it did seem half empty in the hall with the clubs. The 2000's were well represented but there wasn't a single estate (I'll volunteer mine for next year ) so my plan of comparing parts was thrown out the window!
I was really disappointed that there wasn't any Triumph parking, I was really looking forward to seeing a car park of Triumphs with mine included, but it wasn't to be.
I didn't spend much money, I paid for my register membership, and I got some repair panels (thanks Ted) and a workshop manual which will be my bedtime reading for the next few weeks.
I enjoyed chatting to everyone I met, and I'm glad I got the thumbs up for my estate from those who saw her.
The weather was funny, it was lovely when I drove to the show, and as soon as I got indoors it chucked it down, then on the way home it was lovely again, I ended up picking up my other half from home and going for a drive as it was so nice. It made me glad it was an indoor event, I've been soaked far too often at car shows and I'd rather avoid it if I can!
Overall, I think it was good value for money, although some things could be improved (heating for one!) but it's an event that I'd like to see on the calender for years to come.

I was a bit suprised how small this years event was. And I thought there would've been at least an outdoor section for people bringing their cherished Triumphs. And it was a real chiller in the cattle sheds. But overall a great event for getting various parts for our cars.

Also it was great to meet a few people from the club and see the lovely red 2000 MK1, as I didn't go to the National last year.

Very funny it was following Ken in his V8 powered Saloon in my 2000. I think he got to the next roudabout before I had finished pulling out of the exhibition centre road 84bhp vs 200+ bhp

It was a first time visit for us too. I found the entry a bit confusing as well as the parking, (in a non-Triumph). We had a good day, when we could keep warm, and we had a good chat with Alan (C) and Andy (R) (the latter who we'd not seen far ages) at the Register stand. I bought 4 'S' alloys, (3 with tyres) at a good price. Of course, they had to be from just about the furthest stall in the hall. Luckily, a very helpful stall-holder lent me his sack-truck so I could get them through to the Register stand for temporary storage without knackering myself in the process! Then we negociated with one of the security staff to let me out of one of the sliding doors with them. One of the next jobs is to clean them up.

We must have left a bit later than Kevin as we only saw the effects of the blizzard back down the M40.

Would I go again? Definately. However, maybe I'd try to concentrate on the bits for just 1 car not 3! (Having agreed on a purchase price for a PI the day before!).

Didn't seem as big as previous years and there were no bits that were of interest to me, bar some shiney new carbs.... couldnt justify £225 notes though.... Prices seemed steep in the auto jumble, but at least there were some very tasty 2000's in the club section. I spoke to a couple of chaps from the t2000 registger stand and my dad and I both joined the register. I reckon my 2500s would give most of the other mk2's there a run for their money!!

Those were the carbs that I bought last year when I rebuilt my engine....... Andrew Turner Carbs...... stunning job!

As for throwing down the gauntlet Owen,........... brave words!!! Just make sure you come to the National in June and enter the concours!!

The yellow 3 litre is the only one in existence!!!
