Sorry Lloyd, not my email playing, but my brain! Didn't think to check the email for attachments, thanks for sending it again though.

Surely, the hardest part of what you're doing, is coping with muppets like me! Thanks again Lloyd.

Lloyd, do you get any say in what steel is used to make the panels ?
I dare say the company making the panels uses whatever is the correct spec but it would be very dissapointing if it turned out to be a cheap batch bought from Ford after the old Ka stopped production !

Stainless would be nice !

hey steve,

stainless would be nice, but is expensive, hard to bend / form and there would be the issue of welding the stainless to the existing mild steel panels on the car.

i can choose to use any thickness of steel, as it is my call what i want, but again, it just comes down to cost, and said costs are high enough already  :(

right then,

ive had a quite a few questions from you all regarding the state of play with the other panels.

all is going well, although the sill issue took my foot off the gas for a while there

mk2 front wings comming first closely followed by the mk2 rear half wings and the mk1 / all estates rear half wings.

it would be good to get the inner outer bowls done at the same time, but its all down to time, money and practicality but i will see what i can do.

sorry its all taking so long, but its out of my hands.

ive set a target date of two and a half months to have the mk2 half front wings in production, watch this space !!!!!

Sorry for my slightly daft question. The only reason I asked was because steel with different properties might need a slightly different tool. I can't remember all my college work regarding materials now but wondered if a higher content of whatever stops it going rusty might be available, probably at more cost though.
A great idea but in 40 years time all that will be left of my 2000 will be a pair of 1/2 front wings !

I remember reading about how Triumph produced the alloy bodies for Le Mans Spitfires. Using the standard tools they managed to get enough after producing a lot of scrap.

right guys

it was mentioned regarding sill delivery, that we could arrange pick up points around the country, avoiding some or all of you having to have to pay postage.

if this is to happen, i need some members to put thier hands in the air and step forward to offer thier help :D

collection from cardiff is more than welcome if you wanna come and have a nose and a yack

willing members please get in touch, and also let me know where in the country you are situated.

i will need to sort this before stoneleigh, as if it doesnt happen, i will simply need to charge postage when taking peoples orders.

ive investigated postal rates, here they are:

1 - 4 sills £18.75
5 - 8 sills £25.75
9 - 12 sills £40.00

many thanks
lloyd

Hi Lloyd,

I'm happy to act as a distribution centre based here in South Oxfordshire if that helps. Still have to get the panels to me though!

Cheers,
Mike.
