Well I'm quite sure that I'm not alone in admiring what you're doing and I really look forward to seeing all the cars that can be restored as a result of your hard work......the panel availability will make a huge difference to the future viability and value of our much under rated cars.

Some members have much more understanding of the issue than any committee has had for some time now. As I have posted before I have asked for the issue of spare parts provision for over twenty years now. I knew it would be important and need time to implement. The stance of "we don't want to get involved in parts" is so head in the sand. I don't know of any other "club" which has gone down this route.

Tooling in store does nothing to help. Finance has been offered but we are still in the same bad state of play i.e. no panel spares. So, I am with Lloyd on this one - some action is better than none. I, and some others, will obviously make finance available should Lloyd request it. Perhaps our subs should go towards the project as this seems better value than what is on offer from the "club". No wonder we get break-away clubs needing to form.

No spares = no roadworthy vehicles = no membership.

This is the bottom line.

I understand and even agree with you to a point.
I still don't understand your comments about asking for the register to get involved. I have been on the board for 20 years, no one has asked me, or the board, or raised it at an AGM.
The issue for the register getting involved with producing spares is two fold.
1) someone to do it
2) money

Who would do it? We don't have enough people volunteer to run the club as it is. We have vacant posts, so who would do it ? Are you going to volunteer?

Money. Where do you think the funds will come from? The club needs the subs to run and function as it is. To raise, say £15k to help fund something, EVERY members needs to stump up £200. Would you be happy with that?
Nope.
Neither would anyone else.

It's not a case of wont, its can't.

Lloyd is doing a super job, really amazing. I have told him so both publically and privately. The register is supporting him in making sure all our members know about this, not just the 10% on here. What more can we do?
