I wanted to ask that very question myself.
a) does the commonly advertised set fit Mark 1 as well? (Rimmers, plus several others in SixAppeal)

b) Does the full carpet set normally include the separate bit that is
glued along the inner sill, and also the bits on the outer sides of the
footwells?
Or does carpet just mean the bit on the floor plus transmission tunnel?
I have temporarily fitted a MK2 carpet set into a MK1. Only difference I noticed was around the dip switch.

also most times if you get a mk2 set the seatbelt buckles are on the tunnel, most mk1s are on the rear footwell

Rimmers Mk1 carpets are rubbish... Jimmy Elliott fitted a \"free\" set to his Mk1 ... not very impressive I\'m afraid

Hello all
I too found Rimmers carpets to be rubbish when I put them in my MK2.
Very thin and chunks of material soon came off

As well as the useless stainless steel exhaust that I recently wrote about, I also bought a carpet set from Rimmers for my Mk II in 1998. I think \'rubbish\' is too kind a description!

It\'s very sad but the almost complete unity on the subject of Rimmers quality control is not really a surprise.
I\'m sure we all have our gripes with many suppliers but the Rimmers sub standard theme seems constant... it\'s not as if they are cheap!!!
Amusingly.. almost... a few years ago I turned up there in my brothers Stag.. I really was just passing.. and needed a electric window switch.. I called in and bought one and asked the obvious ... will it fit? They assured me it would.. so I went outside and tried to fit it... obviously it wouldn\'t fit and when I went back inside and complained there was a look of almost horror that I had actually turned up in a Triumph (it was snowing as it does in Lincolnshire)... They apologised and spent a good half hour filing the switch and lubing it with WD40 until I had a still poor fitting but operable switch... it was very sticky though..
Another classic Rimmers moment was ordering a recon rack for my younger brothers Dolly 1500HL (MOT failure).. a new rack promptly arrived... for a TR7!!! This was the correct rack they insisted..it came from the right stock bin... I could go on but for the most part I have stopped using Rimmers
