Uj on drive shaft
Hi guys I have a slight knocking on the rear as I go round a right hand corner I think it’s the outer uj on the drive shaft how hard are they to change please do I need any special tools for it thx john

Hello John,
Do you have vibration also as that is common when drive shaft ujs fail.
Not too difficult to replace, particularly if you have replaced prop shaft ujs?
You'll ideally need some circlip pliers and a vice to press out and in the bearing cups.
Ensure that when refitting the drive shaft that the bearing housing is not overtightened on the trailing arm, as you risk pulling the studs out.
From memory only 15 lbsft torque is required.
If you have never done this before I would suggest finding a YouTube video to get an idea of the uj repair procedure.
