Outrigger

I’m inclined to just cut this bit out and weld a patch in it. The rest of the outrigger and the passenger sill seems OK. Has anyone done this before? Thank you.

Hi Simon,
What's the floor pan like directly above the outrigger? If that is totally solid, it may be an indication that the corrosion is confined to the outer edge of the outrigger, but as you know, corrosion generally extends further internally than is clearly visible on the outside. I'll be inclined to cut the corroded area away, and then evaluate how far it extends when you can see inside with the help of a mirror?

Outriggers are available from Lloyd Reed, South Wales Triumphs. You may find it is more cost effective to just replace rather than patch due to the work required.
