Rear bumper aspect

#1 Post by torque2me » Thu May 30, 2024 12:49 pm

Hello,

Been doing a bit of a garage re-sort and came across a few bumpers. One is a rear bumper with the rubbing strip. It does not fit my 2500s saloon so I would think it is very likely to be from a 2500s Estate.

As all Estates were based on the Mk.1 Barb platform the question I have "is the 2500s Mk2 rear bumper (and indeed the front one) able to be fitted to the Mk1 Estate besides being o.k. for the 2000/2500 FL updates?"

Mk 2 saloon rear bumpers will not fit any estate. The front bumpers are not really interchangeable between Mk1 and Mk2 since the nose and wing profiles are different, however in theory a Mk2 estate rear bumper and Mk1 estate rear bumper would fit but imho look odd. The Mk1 estate and saloon rear bumper may be the same.

So, to be on the safe side I'll just describe it as a Mk.2 2500s Estate rear bumper.

Thanks,

Kev
