Hello all thanks for the comments. The car is now moving ahead, dad is working on it during the week and I'm chipping in on the weeknights and weekends.
Everything is ready to refit, there are some parts which have been sent away for chroming which could hold things up a little.

So far its going wheelie good, John you can have first dibs.

The all important sound proofing needed a little attention. Where it was damaged I used household rockwool insulation and PVA glue, a bit Blue Peter but did the job in fact went over the whole thing with it and then a light coating of rubberised stone chip has bonded it together nicely.

The glass has been fitted with the rear glass fitted with a new old stock rubber, worth the money when they come up for sale, the pattern ones fit but cant seem to get the bottom right. Bit of a mare with the drivers door glass, it is scratched big time I've got a spare but it has another cars REG etched on it doh! Really good condition as well, maybe a strategic triplex sticker placement is required or may have to look for another one.

Had to keep the period Goldenlay Eggs and this car has been Supertuned by a company in Gwent window stickers.

Not worried about keeping the badges for the crowning glory item, if I've found the part might as well put it on, if I put it down it might take a couple of hours to find it again.

It does look 'wheelie' good Ross - in fact 'wheelie wheelie' good...!! I am quietly away quite jealous; very envious that you have a superb looking Mk1 PI in what has to be the best colour.... Insanely jealous in fact..... but well done Ross and Paul! Look forward to possibly seeing it at next year's National (?) and then driving it home (?!?) 😂 :lol: 👍

Hello all another update. Were plodding along nicely. The bulkhead items are now fitted along with the windscreen with sealant applied around the rubber, I'll fit the trim when its on its wheels as I cant reach round it.

Last couple of evenings we have installed the new clutch and mounted the gearbox to the engine along with a few other odds and ends ready to reinstall it back in the car over the weekend.
