Laurence, it looks like you're going to have an awful lot of fun terrorising motorists down there in the South West with your mean machine! It'll be nice to howl past 'em, especially those boring M-B drivers*

Having seen the car in the flesh at various stages I can confirm that the photos do not lie, it is a very nice car.

I am paying attention, just rising above it with usual MB driver's aloofness!!

Re: Mk1 2000 mo/d saloon.
Thanks for the positive comments, looking forward to bedding the engine in a bit more, will be going on the rolling road soon..
Inevitably there are a number of snagging issues, one in particular is a loose boot lid mechanism, not sure how it can tightened , any ideas would be appreciated,
cheers,
Laurence

Re: Mk1 2000 mo/d saloon.
The snagging process has continued over the past month or so. One of the main issues has been rust/muck particles being drawn into the filter and ultimately block,i'm sure others have had this problem when recommissioning a car that has been laid up for a long time. A bigger filter has helped and the debris coming through is now very little, hopefully most of its out. The dash fuel indicator has not worked since the return home, not sure whether it is a fuel sender issue or the dash instrument,-any ideas?.
The steering rack was found to be worn and has now been replaced with a CW'quick rack', i believe from a spitfire.A quieter mid exhaust section has been fitted to reduce boom at higher speeds, still sounds great at higher revs with the cherry bomb back box. Hopefully some photos areattached,
cheers,
Laurence
