Identify the wheel trim, is it a Triumph .

#1 Post by Alan H »

Friend from work asked me if I could identify a couple of wheel trims he found in his garage, I am not sure. Back in the day he had a big Triumph. Think they are destined for the bay.

Is it off a Triumph ? Opinions please. Link to Picture below.

Hi Alan

yes it is off a Triumph.................
and should fit the Big Sixes, Vitesses,GT6 and Stags.
However, the back rings are different on the GT6/Vitesses to the 2000 marques and the 13" 2000 ones will fit a 14" Stag wheel but will leave about a 5mm space on the outer.

Can't quite see the picture that well on my phone as the Six appeal magazine picture overlaps it....... :( but another difference other than size between the 2000 and Stag trims are the valve holes. 2000 ones are round and Stag more oblongish.

The Stag holes are oval because being a larger diameter wheel the valves are half an inch further out, as Lee says the trims are the same size really.
Also GT6 and Vitesse ones dont have a small hole in the centre as they didn't have the BL 'roundel' badge on them. Not sure about mk1 pi ones, Lee will know best there.
Can't see the pic as 'IT police' at work have blocked it for my safety
