What is the best way to strip the laquer from Triumph alloys? Mine were refurbished a while ago but look awful again now. I was thinking of using Nitromors and then polishig the alloy. Has anyone else done a similar thing? Any advice would be welcome.
Many thanks

I only used wire-wool to clean up both pairs. It was an awful lot of effort.
The one pair I then laquered, the other pair I left bare. The laquered pair started to deteriorate quicker, but look better now, many years on.
Personally I think I would get them professionally done !

Strip them with nitormors, then polish.
I cheated, had mine professionally polished then had then clear stove enamelled over the top. They were done 7 years ago and they still look perfect, near chrome in fact.
Look at my technical article on rear trailing arm bushes (advertised on the register home page to see how they look!
