Hi,
Is 0.6mm steel thick enough for a wheel arch patch. Its nice and easy to cut and shape - but maybe too thin. Its not structural though.

I would say that it is too thin, 1.0 to 1.2 mm would be better.
Sheet steel is easlily cut and shaped in that sort of gauge. Also easier to weld as very thin steel is liable to burn through.

Thanks Alec, I tend to agree but I had made the patch and decided to have a go (couldn’t be arsed to make another truth be told. With the amps down low it welded on OK. Now to see how long it lasts!
