Lazy paint question

#1 Post by simon.williams »

Can any kind soul tell at a glance what the exact paint reference will be for my PI? I need to stock up on rattle cans…

I assume there is no additional « clear coat » required for a triumph?

Thank you!

It was lazy - I have found it - 82 Carmine.

Any recommendations for stockists? Thank you!

I like Carmine (but I'm biased as my S is Carmine!).
When getting the paint just bear in mind there are various shades of Carmine, and if yours has been repainted previously....
I would take off a front door 'strap' or the fuel flap, or better still just take the whole car to a paint suppliers that mix paint into aerosols, and who can tint it to the exact shade of the Carmine on your car, rather than buy 'off the shelf' areosol paint tins which may or may not be a the right shade / match. But due to the age of the cars now, taking into account weathering / fading, tinting to the exact shade currently would ensure a better match.
