Hello
I need to refurbish the 4 doors of my 1972 Triumph 2.5 PI
The colour is clearly white, but the plaque in the engine bay is blank where is says Paint code
From the register web site I see there are apparently 3 white paint codes 19, 29 and 39, and watching a few videos of folk working on their beloved bolides cars, 19 at least isn't a bright white apparently more creamy white.
Obviously after nearly 50 years it's tough to determine if the colour is faded or close to original. VIN is 1 MG 512 87LDL
Camera images depend on light conditions, so it can be tough to show you.
here's a couple in different light conditions to give you an idea
Living in France dunno I can get a supplier to send me some even if I work out which it is.
Maybe easier to just get a specialist to match it.
Any thoughts.

Re: White paint
I have had several Triumph 2000 / 2.5PI / S models in Triumph White, which is more of a 'creamy' white. All have been paint code 19.
Triumph colours are grouped together, whites, blues, reds etc, although some variations in colour are hardly what you and I would describe as the 'main' colour. Honeysuckle for example is grouped in the whites under paint code 39, but to me Honeysuckle is nothing like white! Greys (Gunmetal, Slate and Dolpin) for example are all grouped as Blue Colours.
The only 'proper' white is Triumph White , paint no 19 and you won't go far wrong with that, although bear in mind there are different tints. Some Triumph White had a green tint (don't ask me how I know... ) so I would contact a place that would mix it to your exact shade, either in tins or aerosol. If the car hasn't been painted, I would take something that is likely to be the original paint such as a door check strap, or the petrol flap if the car has previously been painted (or if original, the inside which rarely gets repainted).

Re: White paint
A Heritage Certificate from the British Motor Museum would give you the paint details
