I have a 2000TC, 1978 (NZ) - where would be the best place to purchase a wiper arm for the passenger side of the car (can't find a second hand one) and / or is there another vehicle that has the same arm (might be able to find second hand)?

Being a very late model, is your car is fitted with what I would describe as anodized satin grey finished wiper arms with the slimmer head mounting at the wheelbox, rather than the earlier chrome version?
Whatever type your car is fitted with, I may have a good used spare available, if you can confirm which type you require.

I will no doubt have a good chrome one available. Is it going to NZ - I can also get the cost to post it from the UK but it may be prohibitive...??

No problem. I'll get an idea of the cost anyway just on the off chance you can't locate one. It may possibly turn out to be relatively reasonable....🙂

That would be great thanks. The reason for the need is the part that holds the spring on the bottom of the arm broke off, I assume it can't be fixed? Also what's the easiest way to get the arm off?

Under the head of the arm, where it sits on the splines of the wheelbox, you should see a small tab that sits against the edge of the splines. Insert a small thin flat screwdriver, and twist it to move the tab clear of the spline, and the arm should pull off. May need a little persuasion if they haven't been off for years with another screwdriver wrapped in cloth so as not to mark the chrome.
Here's a picture off EBay of a wiper arm showing the tab.

OK, first of all where are you. 2nd. does the arm park on the left or right. Our one's seem to vary a bit depending on what bits they had in the parts bin. I may be able to help. Can you post a pic?
Tony.
1976 2500 TC. converted to S specs.

Lots of bits

1999 BMW Z3.
2006 BMW 325ti.
Hopefully not needing too many bits.

Hopefully if Tony can sort you out, then that would beneficial to you postage cost wise.
Hadn't thought of that - yes, some RHD cars for export markets did have the LHD wiper layout, which obviously makes a difference to the angle of the cranked end of the wiper arm, which for the UK market, was the passenger side arm.
