new paint at last

#1 Post by Rod 2500S » Mon Jan 17, 2022 1:20 am

At last after 7 years all body work done and Primed with 2 pack Hi-build, she goes off to the painter.
He takes one look and says "really good job for an amateur, but we need to rub it down again and reprime with my brand of primer"
A day later and $1000 bucks lighter, she goes into the booth, i nearly cried. Nice bloke, he handed me a beer, gave me the comfy viewing chair and I watched as the latest water based base coat went on followed by 6 coats of 2 pack clear.
The result see pics
looks remarkable
Cheers

Looks a great paint job with a beautiful paint finish!
Impressed with how tidy your garage and workshop area is too..!!

Hi,
it does look really great, I can see why you are so pleased-I would be too, I am a fan of the greens and blue colours on Triumphs.
Enjoy your car :D

Hi all
Yes very pleased with the finish given that water based paints are very difficult to get a flat finish. I've seen late model high end cars with orange peel.
Johnny the neatness is a legacy of working for Toyota, used to teach 5S worplace organisation, but there are still grotty corners unseen LOL.
cheers all
