Well what a pain in the arse that was....removed all ancillaries and all the bell housing bolts but the engine sump would not come past the cross member with the box in place so had to drop the box and out it came...

Now it’s time for a rebuild unless I can find a good one before hand.

Was also thinking that it may the right time to source an overdrive box as this would have been right for car.

Please keep your Triumph ears to the ground and let me know if you hear of anything

I didn't think you could just bolt on an overdrive to an ordinary gearbox? Or do you also have to swap over some internal parts in the gearbox, such as the output shaft?

Are J and A type overdrives interchangeable?
