Wow thanks folks, more great information and food for thought.

My 2 HS4’s have a round Chrome separate filter per carb, they look after market. I also have in the mountain of spares I got with the car a long slim filter box which I guess fits the HS6’s.

My main plan at the moment is to get the engine running correctly and then I can decide if the rest if the car is worth chucking money at it. So... I’ll get the HS4 carbs serviced, new points, condenser, distributor cap and leads plus need to get the starter motor serviced as that’s intermittent. Once I have it running correctly and on the button i’ll do a compression test and if that’s ok I’ll look at getting stuck into the other bits... brakes/fuel lines/steering alignment etc etc, the list goes on...

Anyway you get my point, let’s get the motor right and work from there.
