Re: National 2018 update
72 triumphs booked, and a few owners Only 24 of them are pi's though - and that includes John's & mine.
Still have an engine to build, some door hinges to cut off & weld on new ones, interior to finish & fuel lines. 56 sleeps isn't sounding a lot of time...

Re: National 2018 update
Its only 49 sleeps now, Sharon, but at least there is a chance of 24 PI's after rousing Johns Sienna PI from its 20+ year slumber today!
Still a bit to do, but I'm sure it will make it.

Re: National 2018 update
That's good Dave, I think there is a lot of midnight oil burning this time of the year
Re: National 2018 update
Yes, Plan B (the Sienna PI) has now started! I just felt there was far too much work to get the white PI to the National in the time left. (Why does the nice weather start so near to the National??!!??)
After being asleep for approx 21 years, it turned over ok by hand, so the old (4 star!!) fuel was drained out, fuel lines cleared, but the pump was solid, so several replacements were tried. One sounded better than the others, didn't get hot and didn't leak (!) which did the trick, so with some new fuel, points, condenser, dissy cap and a borrowed battery, a quick oil change and plug clean, after about half a dozen churns, it fired into life!! Excellent! Trouble is I had taken the exhaust off for some reason (can only think someone wanted an auto mild steel system, and having a stainless already for it, I sold it?!?), and it sounded like a bronchitic dragster!
Rear brakes were seized, but everything seems reasonably straight forward (?!?), so new hydraulics and some steering and suspension items, cooling parts / rubber hoses, exhaust and new tyres are all there waiting to be fitted, so hopefully.... fingers crossed! The PI system will be learning curve again, as I haven't run a PI since the mid nineties... but I don't think there will be too many issues, hopefully!
A quick bath to get rid of 21 years of dust, and it looked a million dollars! (well, as much as a Sienna one can! )
Back to the garage......

Re: National 2018 update
Will be bringing one Pi's. If I have a fuel tanker to follow I could bring two but that could be a logistical nightmare later on. We are continuing our hols in Devon for another week. I'll have a think about it. Also the MK2 is a pig to steer no PAS, got lazy since my youth. I count 39 sleeps to go ish.

Re: National 2018 update
Car MOT’d and seems reliable - so barring complete disaster our Swedish registered Arctic 2000 will be starting south complete with the whole family on about the 20th June. Hopefully Doug will have an overdrive gearbox ready dor swapping in ready in time

Re: National 2018 update
For anyone not yet booked for the National, day passes are available on the day for £5 per person, or camping or a pod can still be booked with the campsite.
The address of the campsite is Whitehill Country Park, Stoke Gabriel, Paignton, TQ4 7PF. The main event is Saturday event starts from 10 am.
We have around 85 triumphs booked, and Mr Sunshine has been booked for an appearance all week
Any queries, email nationals@triumph2000register.co.uk

Re: National 2018 update
Having just returned from this years National at Paignton, Devon - what a superb week! Fantastic weather in a beautiful part of the country, a 1st class site and a brilliant turn out of Triumphs! The display of Triumphs, especially the rows of PI's, on the Saturday was stunning!
A big big thanks to Derek and Sharon for their outstanding efforts in arranging this week long event - up there as one of the best Nationals in my opinion!
