STAR 90 Weekend

I'll also ask Allen to put this on the main web site if possible.

As well as the big show at Gaydon on the Sunday, STAR90 includes a Gala Dinner with special Guest speaker and the opportunity to take your car on the skid pan and around the circuit at Prodrive's test track near Kenilworth on the Saturday.

I was asked to help in making a promotional video for the Prodrive event. I've put it onto YouTube, you can see it here:

Nice work Kevin! The driver of the blue TR6 should have blasted past that stag though.........

He did! And left the yellow GT6 for dust. Just not on the bit we filmed  The skid pan was good fun, although putting the roof down when it was raining and the sprinklers were going was not the brightest of ideas! Suprisingly difficult to get the TR to skid, although in typical Triumph style, it held on until the last minute and then went without warning.

We had the track for an hour over lunch. it was a tight run thing to get the filming into such a limited time.

Nice one, Kevin !

ps. your TR6 & the GT6 have 'naughty' plates on, non-reflective only legal up to L reg :?:

3 or 4 of my pictures are in the montage for the STAR90 branding, although in the image that has been used with the logo superimposed, some of the cars have been covered over.

Did you also notice that the GT6 and my TR have very similar registrations, both being STG xxx M and as you mention, both with "naughty" black plates. Mine are, as you would expect from such a fine upstanding fellow as me, only show plates and I of course have a set of the correct reflective plates that I fit for road use. Curiously, almost every picture of my TR shows it with the black plates.

At least I don't have this problem with the 2000 as it is pre 1973 by just a few weeks.

Actually I did notice the close similarities, Kevin, being a self-confessed number plate 'anorak', thinking that 'STG' could signify 'Standard-Triumph Group' !
They were issued in Glamorgan in 1974, as you probably know.
