Yes thought that if it was a last resort .

Does make me wonder if I am having this much trouble finding the right car then how much trouble would I have getting together all the parts to do the auto to manual conversion .

Well this is turning more difficult than I thought , not asking for much or am I ? Are these so good that nobody wants to part with there car. This is my wish list .
Mk1 2000 or PI , not automatic . Saloon or estate . Restored or good original . Up and running and no major work needed . Standard or modified .NO RUST . Now that’s not too much to ask is it.

Described as a restoration project , seen it previously and decided too much work and I want something that’s either done or very very nice original . Thanks for the tip off though .

Bear in mind, you're looking for a near perfect 50 year old car. Even here in New Zealand without your rust issues, it would be a big ask, without serious big money changing hands.
Good Luck
Tony.
1976 2500 TC. converted to S specs.

Lots of bits

1999 BMW Z3.
2006 BMW 325ti.
Hopefully not needing too many bits.

What about this MK1?

Looks a good project that one! I agree with Tony what I paid for the Pi with a seized engine, a bit of rot in the wings and tired paint. To break even I would have to sell it for 15k. But our big saloons have rarely tested the water in high end Condition and command high price. I have seen examples sold 10k and I wouldn’t sell any of my Pi’s for less then 10k at the moment.

Time for a update . Still looking as there is nothing out there for sale .
No projects , no auto boxes , restored of good original. Mk 1 only standard or modified , funds in place .
