Hi from Kent !

#1 Post by TobyC » Sun Dec 20, 2020 12:19 pm

Hi All!

I'm now the proud owner of the Milestone Classics Mk1 (https://www.milestoneclassics.co.uk)

I'll take delivery after xmas and can't wait to be a Triumph Mk1 owner once again. I owned 3 Mk1's approx 25 years ago and sold them to pay for my wedding, so really looking forward to owning one again. I currently have an MGC in the garage so the Triumph will be on the drive but that will encourage me to drive it ! Just a shame I sold all my manuals and parts all those years ago (including a NOS bonnet and nose cone which at the time I was told was rare!)

Hopefully I'll be able to join some of you at a meet soon - although as I'm in Tier 4 no idea when that might be

See you on the road!

Toby

Hi Toby,
Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the Forum! You are the second person recently to purchase a beautiful Triumph from MIlestone Classics and join the Forum - BigJohn recently bought the immaculate Saffron Mk2 2000 from them.
The Wedgewood Mk1 (pity Milestone can't do their homework properly regarding basic colour names with these models!!) looks a stunning car, and is one of the best colours for the 2000 in my opinion! I trust that (if you haven't already!) you are considering joining the Triumph 2000 Register, where you will meet like minded folk and get all the help you should need for your Triumph!
Charles Harrison (Charles H on here) is a regular contributor on the Forum, has plenty of knowledge of Triumph 2000's, both MK1 and Mk2, and is also from Kent, so should be on hand to offer any advice if you need it.
Enjoy the Triumph!

Welcome Toby. That seems a well sorted car. We usually meet at the Cat and Custard Pot Paddlesworth near Folkestone for our monthly get together, but sadly not since January this year!! Where in Kent are you? Hope to be able to catch up at some point in the future!

Hi All

I'm looking forward to picking it up. It looks like my last Mk1 is no longer on the road according to the DVLA (XLA435G) - unless its owned by a club member and currently on SORN?

Yep - I'll be joining the club as soon as I take delivery of the car and I'll ask the club if they have any history of my car.

I'm in North Kent (Gravesend, nr Bluewater) but office is in Ashford and trips to Folkestone will be no bother !

When I last owned a Mk1 a nice fella (can't recall his name) from the owners club gave me a 'matchbox' style plastic Mk1 which I've still got! All my manuals went on ebay though :(

Oh well - time to start building up my spares again!!
