Hello there,

Have just joined as recently bought a 1973 mk2 Triumph 2.5 pi (on carbs) I’ll apologise in advance for my endless questions around what do I do here.... where can I buy that etc. But I’m sure this will be a great place for all the information I need and hopefully at some stage I can help others.

Speak soon
Sal

Welcome! Ask all the questions you need to! Many of us on here have had Triumphs for many years so between us we can (hopefully) point you in the right direction!

Welcome indeed! I've had rather a lot of rogue user registrations recently, so it was nice to see a real one! I'm glad I managed to see it amongst all the dross.

I hope you enjoy the car and do not right-off re-installing the PI equipment if you feel that way inclined. It does make a super car to drive.

As John has said, there is many, many years of experience of these cars on this forum and I'm sure many members will be pleased to help.

Cheers,
Mike.

Thanks Johnnydog and Mike

I fully intend to reinstall the injection system but I’ll get it going on carbs first as there are loads of other big ticket items that will take precedent.

Out of interest how much do you think it would cost me to buy the injection set up?

Cheers
Sal

As said in reply to one of your other similar topics, 1973 was the change over year from the 132 to the 125 bhp engine which meant there were differences in the inlet manifolds and linkage, distributor and ignition timing etc etc. You need to establish which engine you have in your car before buying any injection parts if only to make sure it is right for your car. Hopefully the fuel lines / pipework under the car, the pump in the boot and original distributor are still fitted which would be a bonus!
